Interior design

An abandoned WordPress site, looked after again

Gurumood is an interior design studio in Lisbon. Its site was built by another developer, who stopped responding. Tejobit took the site over and now looks after it.

Gurumood website on a laptop and a phone, with the home page and the project gallery

Starting point

When the previous developer left the project, the site still worked, but it was out of date and the owners had nobody to ask for help.

The gallery was the biggest problem: each set of photos was a separate block on the page, so adding or swapping images took a lot of work and could easily break the rest.

What was done

  • Updates and maintenance

WordPress, plugins and PHP kept up to date and monitored on an ongoing basis, instead of waiting for something to break.

  • A gallery that is easy to manage

The loose blocks gave way to a single gallery component, grouped into bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, halls, public spaces and details. Adding photos became simple.

  • Day-to-day requests

Text, images and small changes handled when the owners need them, in both the Portuguese and English versions, without them touching WordPress.

Outcome

  • The owners have someone to ask for changes again.
  • An up-to-date site, instead of one frozen since the previous developer left.
  • A gallery managed in a few clicks, already holding over 60 photos of the latest projects.
