Revolut Business integration

Reads Revolut Business transactions as they happen and reconciles them with invoices, expenses and the bookkeeping sheet.

Overview

Revolut Business

Plenty of small companies and freelancers in Portugal run on Revolut Business: team cards, multiple currencies and fast transfers. The Business API exposes accounts, transactions, counterparties and payments.

Tejobit connects that API to the rest of the operation. Each new transaction arrives by webhook, is matched to an open invoice by amount and reference, and the invoice is marked as paid in the invoicing program. Card spending goes to a sheet or the accounting software, already categorised.

For online sales, the Revolut Merchant API can also create payment orders and confirm them, which covers payment links sent to customers.

Use cases

What it is for

  • An agency or consultant paid by bank transfer who wants invoices marked as paid automatically
  • A team on Revolut cards whose expenses must reach the accountant every month
  • A company holding several currencies that needs a daily balance log
  • A shop charging through Revolut payment links and confirming orders once paid
IN

What the connection listens to

  • TransactionCreated when money comes in or goes out
  • TransactionStateChanged when a transaction completes, is declined or reverted
  • A completed payment order on the Merchant API
  • A daily balance read per account and currency
OUT

What the connection does

  • Match incoming payments to open invoices and mark them as paid
  • Send card expenses to accounting with a category and the receipt
  • Create payment orders and send the link to the customer
  • Update a cash-flow sheet with balances and transactions
  • Flag expected payments that have not arrived by their due date

How it works

From the request to a working connection

  1. 01

    Request

The form names the integration, the tools involved and what should happen in each case.

  2. 02

    Review and proposal

Tejobit confirms what the API allows and sends a proposal with the flow, the price and the timeline.

  3. 03

    Setup and testing

The connection is set up with the business's own accounts and tested with real cases before it goes live.

  4. 04

    Maintenance and monitoring

Tejobit hosts the connection, follows up on errors and adapts it when the API changes.

The connection runs on Tejobit's infrastructure. The monthly fee covers hosting, monitoring and API changes.

What to prepare

  • A Revolut Business account with Business API access
  • The app certificate and authorisation set up in Revolut Business (done together during setup)
  • Matching rules for transactions and invoices: reference, tax number or amount
  • Access to the invoicing or accounting program

For security, do not send passwords, API keys or tokens through the form. Credentials are requested through a secure channel when the setup starts.

Limits

  • Each account has a cap on webhooks and only a few retries, so the connection also polls on a schedule
  • API access needs its authorisation renewed from time to time for security
  • Transfers without a clear reference may need manual confirmation

Frequently asked questions

Before you start

Can the connection send transfers?

The Business API can create payments, but the connection only does it when explicitly requested and with approval rules. Most setups only read transactions.

How is a payment matched to the right invoice?

By the reference in the transfer description, the amount and the payer's name. When there is no clear match, the transaction goes to a list for review.

Can my accountant see the data?

They can get an up-to-date sheet or the data straight in their accounting software, without logging into the Revolut account.
