PrestaShop integration

Reads orders through the PrestaShop Webservice and links them to invoicing, payments and shipping, outside the shop's modules.

Overview

PrestaShop

Many long-running Portuguese shops are on PrestaShop, some with years of catalogue and customers behind them. Their owners know the drill: every invoicing or shipping module costs money, has to be bought again for each major version, and one of them always ends up abandoned.

Tejobit connects to the PrestaShop Webservice, the shop's native API, with a key limited to the resources needed: orders, order history, customers, addresses, products and stock. From there, invoicing and shipping run outside the shop.

PrestaShop does not send webhooks out of the box, so the connection checks for new orders and status changes at short intervals, or takes a ping from a light module where that makes sense.

Use cases

What it is for

  • A parts and accessories shop with thousands of products keeping stock in line with the warehouse
  • A gourmet food shop issuing the Moloni invoice once payment is accepted
  • A business creating EuPago references for orders paid by Multibanco
  • A shop shipping with CTT that wants tracking in the order history
IN

What the connection listens to

  • New orders and order_histories changes, checked on a schedule
  • Specific order states such as Payment accepted or Shipped
  • A ping from a light module at checkout, when installed
  • Stock changes coming from another system
OUT

What the connection does

  • Issue the invoice in the certified program using the billing address
  • Change order status and add the tracking number
  • Update stock_availables from the warehouse or another channel
  • Create payment references and attach them to the order
  • Keep a copy of orders in a database for reporting

How it works

From the request to a working connection

  1. 01

    Request

The form names the integration, the tools involved and what should happen in each case.

  2. 02

    Review and proposal

Tejobit confirms what the API allows and sends a proposal with the flow, the price and the timeline.

  3. 03

    Setup and testing

The connection is set up with the business's own accounts and tested with real cases before it goes live.

  4. 04

    Maintenance and monitoring

Tejobit hosts the connection, follows up on errors and adapts it when the API changes.

The connection runs on Tejobit's infrastructure. The monthly fee covers hosting, monitoring and API changes.

What to prepare

  • The PrestaShop Webservice switched on and a key with per-resource permissions
  • The PrestaShop version and the modules that touch orders
  • A map of the order states used in the shop
  • Access to the invoicing program, gateway and carrier

For security, do not send passwords, API keys or tokens through the form. Credentials are requested through a secure channel when the setup starts.

Limits

  • PrestaShop has no native webhooks, so there is a short delay between an order and the reaction
  • Shops with friendly URLs off or restrictive servers may need tweaks before the Webservice responds
  • Modules that store data outside the standard tables may not be reachable through the API

Frequently asked questions

Before you start

Does it work with PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9?

Yes. The Webservice exists in all three. Small differences between resources are handled during setup.

Do I need to install a module?

Not necessarily. The connection works with the Webservice alone. A light module is only worth it when the reaction must happen the same second.

Can I remove my current invoicing module?

Once the connection is invoicing and validated, yes. The switch uses a cut-off date, so no invoice is issued twice.
