Sage integration

Bookings, orders and payments brought into Sage, using the integration route each Sage product sold in Portugal allows.

Overview

Sage

In Portugal, Sage is mostly present through Sage 50c, a Windows application used for invoicing and accounting in small and mid-sized businesses, and Sage 100c for larger companies, alongside cloud tools and products for accounting firms. Each integrates differently, so the first step is confirming which one is in use.

Sage 50c has an official API, but it is local: it runs through the Interop libraries installed with the program, on the computer or server where Sage runs. There is no official web API to call over the internet. To connect Sage 50c to a booking platform or cloud store, Tejobit installs a small connector on that machine, which receives data over a secure channel and writes it to Sage through the API.

The connector creates customers, items and documents in Sage 50c, which remains the certified software that issues them and reports them to the AT. When documents were already issued by another certified program, Sage 50c stores them under external series, which are reported by the issuing program, not by Sage.

Use cases

What it is for

  • A tour operator invoicing FareHarbor bookings in Sage 50c.
  • A web shop whose paid orders must become documents in the office's Sage 50c.
  • A company with field sales staff issuing documents in a certified mobile app and needing them in Sage.
  • A group running Sage 100c that wants customers and orders from a B2B portal.
IN

What the connection listens to

  • A completed or paid booking in the reservations platform.
  • A paid order in the online store.
  • A payment confirmed by the gateway.
  • The connector's send queue, which retries anything that failed while the Sage computer was off.
OUT

What the connection does

  • Creates or updates customers and items in Sage through the local API.
  • Creates sales documents in the series assigned to each channel.
  • Brings in documents issued by another certified program under external series, where that applies.
  • Returns the Sage document number to the source system.

How it works

From the request to a working connection

  1. 01

    Request

The form names the integration, the tools involved and what should happen in each case.

  2. 02

    Review and proposal

Tejobit confirms what the API allows and sends a proposal with the flow, the price and the timeline.

  3. 03

    Setup and testing

The connection is set up with the business's own accounts and tested with real cases before it goes live.

  4. 04

    Maintenance and monitoring

Tejobit hosts the connection, follows up on errors and adapts it when the API changes.

The connection runs on Tejobit's infrastructure. The monthly fee covers hosting, monitoring and API changes.

What to prepare

  • The Sage product and version in use (Sage 50c, Sage 100c or another solution).
  • For Sage 50c or 100c, a Windows computer or server with Sage installed and running during business hours.
  • Permission to install the connector and internet access from that machine.
  • Series, items and VAT rates set up for the sales being integrated.

For security, do not send passwords, API keys or tokens through the form. Credentials are requested through a secure channel when the setup starts.

Limits

  • The Sage 50c API only works on the machine where Sage is installed; if it is switched off, data waits in a queue until it is back.
  • There is no official web API for Sage 50c; third-party web services exist but cost extra and are not Sage products.
  • Yearly Sage updates can require a connector update, because the API libraries change version.
  • Not every Sage product sold in Portugal has a public API; in some cases the only route is file import.

Frequently asked questions

Before you start

Does Sage 50c have an API?

Yes, but it is local, Windows only, and needs Sage installed on the same machine. That is why the integration uses a connector installed next to Sage that talks to the cloud over a secure channel.

Can FareHarbor bookings be invoiced in Sage?

Yes. The connection receives each paid booking, creates the customer and document in Sage 50c and stores the invoice number against the booking.

I use a Sage cloud product. Does this work?

It depends on the product and edition, because API access varies. Tejobit confirms this before any commitment and says plainly when there is no API.

Set up the Sage integration?
