Payments

Stripe integration

Moves every Stripe payment, subscription and refund into Portuguese invoicing, the CRM and the back-office, without exports.

Overview

Stripe

Stripe powers payments for many startups, SaaS products and shops selling across borders. It handles cards, wallets and subscriptions, and in Portugal it also offers Multibanco and MB WAY as local payment methods.

Invoicing is where it usually gets stuck: Stripe produces receipts, but it does not issue invoices certified by the Portuguese Tax Authority. Tejobit wires Stripe webhooks to the invoicing program, so each payment or renewal produces the right document, with the customer's tax number when there is one.

From the same events, the connection can also update subscription status in the CRM, flag disputes to the team or fill a monthly revenue sheet.

Use cases

What it is for

  • A Portuguese SaaS on Stripe subscriptions, with a certified invoice issued on each renewal
  • A course creator selling through Stripe Checkout who wants invoices sent automatically
  • A coworking space billing monthly plans and flagging overdue members in the CRM
  • A shop with international customers reconciling Stripe charges and payouts
  • An events company handling refunds and credit notes in the same flow
IN

What the connection listens to

  • checkout.session.completed when a customer finishes paying
  • invoice.paid and invoice.payment_failed for subscriptions
  • payment_intent.succeeded for payments made through the API
  • charge.refunded and charge.dispute.created
  • customer.subscription.updated and customer.subscription.deleted
OUT

What the connection does

  • Issue the invoice-receipt in the invoicing program with the customer's tax details
  • Create a credit note when a refund goes through
  • Update subscription status in the CRM or back-office
  • Alert the team on Slack or by email when a dispute opens
  • Log charges, fees and payouts in a sheet for bookkeeping

How it works

From the request to a working connection

  1. 01

    Request

The form names the integration, the tools involved and what should happen in each case.

  2. 02

    Review and proposal

Tejobit confirms what the API allows and sends a proposal with the flow, the price and the timeline.

  3. 03

    Setup and testing

The connection is set up with the business's own accounts and tested with real cases before it goes live.

  4. 04

    Maintenance and monitoring

Tejobit hosts the connection, follows up on errors and adapts it when the API changes.

The connection runs on Tejobit's infrastructure. The monthly fee covers hosting, monitoring and API changes.

What to prepare

  • A Stripe account and a restricted key with the required permissions
  • A webhook endpoint created and its signing secret shared
  • Where the customer's tax number lives (checkout field, metadata or CRM)
  • Access to the invoicing program and the document series to use

For security, do not send passwords, API keys or tokens through the form. Credentials are requested through a secure channel when the setup starts.

Limits

  • Stripe does not issue certified invoices in Portugal; the invoicing program does
  • Webhooks can arrive twice or out of order, so the connection must handle them without duplicate documents
  • Some permissions and payment methods depend on the account and country

Frequently asked questions

Before you start

Why isn't the Stripe receipt enough?

In Portugal, invoices must come from certified software and be reported to the Tax Authority. A Stripe receipt is proof of payment for the customer, but it does not replace the invoice.

What if the same event arrives twice?

The connection stores the ID of every event it has processed and skips repeats, so no invoice is ever issued twice.

Does it cover Stripe Billing and one-off payments?

Yes. Subscriptions run on invoice events and one-off payments on checkout.session.completed or payment_intent.succeeded, each with its own rules.

Can it handle both business and consumer customers?

Yes. With a tax number the invoice goes to the company; without one it is issued to a final consumer, following the rule set for each case.
